Blue Rock Springs Park


Location: 650 Columbus Parkway – across from the golf course

Features:
A historic site with large picnic areas (7 reservable sites) with BBQ’s, open turf play areas children’s play equipment, a small lake and island with ducks and peacocks, off street parking and restrooms. A hiking trail provides access to the ridge of the Sulfur Springs Mountain for spectacular views of Vallejo and the Napa River.

1. Lower Vista Area
There are 7 tables and 2 BBQs, 1 large and 1 small.
Rental Fees: $85 ($102 nonresident)
2. Upper Vista Area
9 tables and 1 large BBQ
Rental Fees: $75 ($90 nonresident)
3. The Grove
This area is close to the parking lot and restrooms. it is a flat area, good for people with limited mobility. There is some shade and water. it has 12 tables and 2 large BBQs.
Rental Fee: $140 ($168 nonresident)
4. The Pines
Our largest area contains 22 tables and 2 large BBQs. There is water and shade. It is located on a small hill to the left as you enter the park.
Rental fees: $180 ($216 nonresident)
5. Lake Area
Surrounded by water and supports a population of resident ducks and geese. It has 5 tables, 1 large BBQ and 1 small BBQ. There is no shade an no potable water.
Rental fees: $60 ($72 nonresident)
6. Parkview
Overlooks the entire Park. it has 3 tables and 1 large BBQ. This area has lots of shade.
Rental Fees: $50 ($60 nonresident)

7. Trailside Area
This area has the easiest access. Though partly shaded by Eucalyptus trees, it still has a lovely view of the lake. It has 3 tables and 1 large BBQ.
Rental Fees: $55 ($66 nonresident)

 

Directions:
From I-80 heading toward Sacramento, take the Columbus Parkway exit -follow the roadway until it merges with Columbus Parkway. Continue on Columbus Parkway for approximately 2 miles. The park is located on the north (left-hand) side of the road.

From I-80 heading toward San Francisco, take the Columbus Parkway/San Rafael Hwy 37 exit. Follow signs to Columbus Parkway. The Roadway will narrow and turn left under I-80. The road then becomes Columbus Parkway. Continue for approximately 2 miles. Park is located on the north (left-hand) side of the road.

Public Service Announcement:

Road Closure, JULY 2006--
The City of Vallejo is widening Columbus Parkway from Ascot Parkway North to Blue Rock Springs Park. From 7-5-06 through 1-31-07 Columbus Parkway will be closed to all east bound traffic at St. John's Mine Rd to Blue Rock Springs Park. There will be no access onto Columbus Parkway from Redwood Parkway. The intersection will be closed at Cabernet Dr. West bound traffic will be allowed to use Columbus Parkway from Blue Rock Springs Park to St. John's Mine Road. West bound traffic will be allowed to use Columbus Parkway from Blue Rock Springs Park to St. John's Mine Road. East bound Columbus Parkway traffic will be detoured at Ascot Parkway North (at car dealerships) and will continue along Ascot Parkway to the intersection of Columbus Parkway/Ascot parkway South. Directions to Blue Rock Springs Park during road closure: Redwood East exit from highway 80, follow to Ascot, make a right-hand turn, follow to Columbus Parkway and make a left hand turn, park will be on the right-hand side across from the golf course.
