California Assembly Bill 1234 (AB 1234) (2005) mandates that local agency officials, including those in cities, counties, and special districts, receive two hours of interactive ethics training every two years if they receive compensation or reimbursement. The law covers topics like conflicts of interest, bribery, and transparency. Below are certificates showing proof of completion for our board directors.

Senate Bill 827 (SB 827), effective as of January 1, 2026, requires covered local agency officials to complete mandatory fiscal and financial training every two years. Additionally, newly appointed or hired officials are required to complete the training within six months of assuming office or employment. The Legislature introduced this training to provide local officials with the knowledge necessary to properly oversee public funds. Required topics include financial administration and short- and long-term fiscal management, capital financing and debt management, general fiscal and financial planning, and prudent investing and ethics related to public resources, among others.
