Happy Autumn 2024!

We hope you are all doing well. After a very hot summer, we are looking forward to the temperatures going down. Before you know it, it will be time to hunt for pumpkins, celebrate Thanksgiving, celebrate holidays, and 2025 with family or friends.

We celebrated our 80th birthday in 2024. We had a great event in August, and many people came up to tell me what we are doing correctly, and what we need to improve upon. It was good to hear all the positive things we do, and that is because we have a great staff who care.

Because of the feedback, we will be reaching out to the community in 2025 for input regarding upgrades to the skate park, Carquinez park, Dan Foley, and Blue Rock Springs Park. We hope to start the design work on the Franklin fields. Improvements have been made to Terrace play - ground, Setterquist, and the pool. We hope to keep this momentum going and make more improvements.

Also want your opinion regarding what recreation classes you want or don’t want. We depend on what you tell us, so we can make things better.

I also want to thank our partners in the community. City of Vallejo, Vallejo Fire, Vallejo Police, Vallejo Flood and Waste Water, and the Vallejo City Unified School District.

I also want to thank all the non-profit organizations who have helped us throughout the year. We need your help improve our community.

As I said last year, I want to thank my family and friends for getting me through this past year. I also want to thank staff who are doing a great job. Of course, I want to thank the community for supporting GVRD and hope that you continue to make donations with food, toys, and money that has gone to families who need it. It has made an impact and improved people’s lives. Parks and Recreation are here to enrich the community, and we appreciate all that you have done to help us. We will continue to build memories for the community.

¡Feliz otoño 2024!

Esperamos que estéis todos bien. Después de un verano muy caluroso, estamos deseando que bajen las temperaturas. Antes de que te des cuenta, será el momento de buscar calabazas, celebrar el Día de Acción de Gracias, luego celebrar las fiestas y el 2025 con familiares o amigos.

Celebramos nuestro 80 cumpleaños en 2024. Tuvimos un gran evento en agosto y mucha gente se acercó a decirme qué estamos haciendo correctamente y qué debemos mejorar. Fue bueno escuchar todas las cosas positivas que hacemos, y eso se debe a que contamos con un excelente personal que se preocupa.

Debido a los comentarios, nos comunicaremos con la comunidad en 2025 para solicitar comentarios sobre las mejoras al parque de patinaje, el parque Carquinez, Dan Foley y el parque Blue Rock Springs. Esperamos iniciar el trabajo de diseño en los campos de Franklin. Se han realizado mejoras en el área de juegos Terrace, Setterquist y la piscina. Esperamos mantener este impulso y realizar más mejoras. También queremos tu opinión sobre qué clases de recreación quieres o no quieres. Dependemos de lo que usted nos diga para poder mejorar las cosas.

También quiero agradecer a nuestros socios en la comunidad. Ciudad de Vallejo, Bomberos de Vallejo, Policía de Vallejo, Inundaciones y Aguas Residuales de Vallejo y el Distrito Escolar Unificado de la Ciudad de Vallejo.

También quiero agradecer a todas las organizaciones sin fines de lucro que nos han ayudado durante todo el año. Necesitamos su ayuda para mejorar nuestra comunidad.

Como dije el año pasado, quiero agradecer a mi familia y amigos por ayudarme a superar el año pasado. También quiero agradecer al personal que está haciendo un gran trabajo. Por supuesto, quiero agradecer a la comunidad por apoyar a GVRD y espero que continúen haciendo donaciones con alimentos, juguetes y dinero que ha ido a parar a familias que lo necesitan. Ha tenido un impacto y ha mejorado la vida de las personas. Parques y Recreación están aquí para enriquecer a la comunidad y apreciamos todo lo que ha hecho para ayudarnos. Continuaremos construyendo recuerdos para nuestra comunidad.
