The GVRD Community Champions Sponsorship is available to Organizations residing within the GVRD boundaries who wish to participate in District recreation programs, and who qualify based on established District criteria. The Community Champions Sponsorship program will help eligible groups receive annual funding to help cover field or gym rental fees. Applications will be reviewed within 7 business days. Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The total annual amount allocated for this program may vary, and program may end if all funds are expended. The GVRD Community Champions Sponsorship Application is to be completed, and proof of eligibility is provided at the time the applicant is signing up for the District program. This application shall be valid for one fiscal year, September 1, 2025-August 31, 2026. A new application with qualifying documents must be completed each year. 

The Financial Assistance Application is to be completed and proof of eligibility provided at the time the applicant is signing up for the District program. A new application with qualifying documents must be completed each fiscal year.

• Participant must be Youth-focused programming.
• To qualify, please provide required documentation (see reverse side for criteria).
• Community Champions Sponsorship program may end at any time based on availability of funds.
• Community Champions Sponsorship funding is not transferable or refundable.
• If the Community Champions Sponsorship is used, no other discounts may be applied.
• Participants may be disqualified and removed from the program for misbehavior, and possibly from other programs.

To qualify for the Community Champions Sponsorship, the following criteria must be satisfied: 

• The GVRD Community Champions Sponsorship Application must be completed by the League Organizer.
• Show a photo identification
• Show proof of Vallejo residency (PG&E or water bill)

The applicant must also provide documentation of one of the following:

• Upload Proof of Residency
• Must be Based in Vallejo
• Upload Proof of 501(c)(3) nonprofit status (active/good standing).
• Must Provide Certificate of Insurance and Additional Insured Endorsement.
• Roster with number of youths served per season
• Field requests (include lights, scoreboard access)
• Upload Practice and Game schedule.
• Must be in good standing with GVRD.
• Must Add City of Vallejo and GVRD logos to all marketing materials.
