In 1989 Sensei Mickey Davenport and Dr. Robert Sims started the Vallejo Judo Club. Since that time, the Vallejo Judo Club has become the oldest Judo club in Vallejo, and the largest in Solano County, and has produced many international, national, state, regional and local champions. Vallejo Judo club has been a part of GVRD for approximately 15+ years serving the city of Vallejo and the surrounding towns through the teaching of Judo. After Sensei Davenport passed, Sensei Acazah Goodman and Frankie Valentine-Flores took over the club in 2019. Sensei Goodman and Flores used to compete in tournaments for many years and have been a part of the Judo community for 13+ years. They are both highly certified Judo instructors under USJF (United State Judo Federation) and USA Judo. They continue to keep Sensei Davenport dreams and hopes of teaching Judo to anyone who is willing to learn.
